Samsung Galaxy S3 vs. Alpha vs. Mini: Which Galaxy S3 Version Should you Choose?
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S3 Mini last week as well the Samsung Galaxy S3 Alpha, which is claimed to be more powerful than its brothers.
Since Samsung Galaxy S3 is not everyone's cup of tea, then the tech giant made a new device for people who are looking for a cheaper yet powerful smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S3 was introduced early this year and instantly gained popularity and toppled iPhone from the top spot. It catapulted Samsung's place in the tech market.
The original Samsung Galaxy S3 sports a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED screen display, quad-core Samsung Exynos processor, 1GB of RAM, and 2100 mAh battery. It was released with Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, which can be upgraded to Jelly Bean that will roll out this week.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini
South Korean-based Samsung Electronics finally unveiled the little brother of its Galaxy S3 smartphone - Galaxy S3 Mini.
"It doesn't mean they don't want powerful processors or high megapixel cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini isn't as powerful as its flagship phone, but the company says the device "can be an optimal choice for consumers who are looking for more practical smartphones," the analyst added.
The Galaxy S3 Mini is equipped with 4-inch screen display, dual-core 1GHz Ericsson NovaThor chipset with 1GB of RAM, 1500 mAh battery, 5 MP rear camera and is available in 8GB and 16GB storage variants with microSD slot up to 32GB. However, the Galaxy S3 Mini will have Android's latest mobile software Jelly Bean right out of the box.
Samsung Galaxy S3 Alpha
Latinos Post reported that Docomo have introduced to their consumers Galaxy S3 Alpha.
The Alpha version sports a quad core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 2GB of RAM. The device also features the same multi-tasking windows feature that the Galaxy Note 2 has, along with the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 Alpha is said to come with a HD Super AMOLED display of 4.8 inches and it has a resolution of 1280 x 720. The camera in the back is the 8 megapixels and there will be a 1.9 megapixel camera on the front. Lastly, the Alpha version of the Galaxy S3 comes with Android v4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. The original Galaxy S3 comes with Ice Cream Sandwich but the Jelly Bean update is currently on the roll.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is now available in Samsung Stores and through various carriers. There is no official word yet as to when the Alpha and Mini versions will be released.
