Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Guide: Verizon Release and More
Samsung Galaxy S4 users waiting for the official release of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update can now do so. According to recent information, the update will be rolled out in different stages as soon as possible. The first in line will be Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 users. The update should be available to others depending on the region of users. Other carriers should also follow suit.
According to a report by Motoring Crunch, Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 subscribers can start updating their devices. They just have to check the Software Update section of their units. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update offers a range of improvements include improved camera features, better user interface, redesigned status icons, S feature tweaks, new menus, faster interface, improved battery life and smoother transitions. The update provides an enhanced Android experience.
As for the Android 4.4.2 KitKat Verizon update, the software offers change in Google+ photo, multi-windows support, Play Magazine that goes together with Play Newstand, Verizon Wallet, ISIS Wallet and Google Hangouts SMS support.
Other devices in line to receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update include the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014.
BGR also reported about a leaked document detailing Samsung devices to get the new firmware. However, the Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-19300 model which is the international variant is not in line to receive the update. Sprint has released the Android 4.4. KitKat update for its Samsung Galaxy S3 series whereas the LTE versions of the same flagship should be finished with the update this end of month.
Other devices to receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update include Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Mini LTE, Galaxy Note 3 Neo, Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3. Samsung should finish the roll out in June.
BGR noted that Samsung documentation revealed Galaxy S3 GT-19300 is not line for the update because of "unsolved problems."
