The Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition recently got hold of the Android 4.3 update. However, users of the Google Play Edition handset express their frustration over the Android 4.3 update issue on SD card storage.

According to the Android Central report, the Android 4.3 update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition is having issues on writing to the SD card. "Most apps can no longer write anything to the SD card, and instead just give you an error when you try doing it," a posted message stated.

The majority of the applications could no longer write details on the microSD card and the users receive instead an error-bearing message as a result. A group ID issue is reportedly the cause on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition with Android 4.3 update where apps do not have access to the external storage for writing since they are not in the right group.

A permanent repair for this Android 4.3 update glitch on the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition is not yet available but there is an easy and temporary fix that the users can do for now. The ES File Explorer app through Google Play, which is in the right group, can write and read information and files from the microSD card.

If the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition handset is rooted, users can access the files and repair the issue when the handset is instructed to give authorization to the media-rw group to write to the SD card. Users who are not interested in rooting the device can simply stick to the ES File Explorer app.

Other Samsung devices like the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 are expected to head directly to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update. Hopefully, the South Korean technology giant will be able to release the permanent fix for the Android 4.3 update issue that users encountered in the Google Edition smartphone before it reaches the Galaxy variants.
