The Samsung Galaxy S4 launch took place Thursday night in New York, raising cheers and excitement from Android fans. An HTC One executive has spoken about Samsung's not-so-inspired S4 design. But how does the S4 camera features compare with One's Zoe camera?

First impressions on the Galaxy S4 launch were lukewarm-to-cold among some tech reviewers. Much has been written about the "very S3" look and feel of the Samsung's new flagship smartphone. Still, design comes secondary to Android users looking for new ways to use their phones. Like the HTC One, Galaxy S4 has some neat tricks to offer to mobile photography hobbyists. Samsung Galaxy S4: Sound & Shot, Cinema Photo

Samsung Mobile is boasting of "the most complete and powerful camera experience" with the Galaxy S4. The new super smartphone's Sound & Shot feature allows users to add a precious element to snap shots of precious moments: words and sounds being made as the photo is taken. Imagine babies making their first steps, or toddlers laughing hard during playtime.

Galaxy S4 photos can also be animated for fun. Creative users can make the most of it by experimenting on various subjects and trying out animation possibilities. The new phone also allows dual shot, so users can choose where to place their photo during a webcam shot. Dual recording freezes the image of both the subject and the photographer.

HTC One Zoe Camera and Gallery

HTC One's Zoe camera allows users to choose the best still capture off of a 3-sec video. Zoe, which means "life" in Greek, does bring more life to what used to be still galleries. Going to the gallery beautifully brings up moving pictures taken with Zoe camera.

HTC One's camera also allows post-processing features. Like Samsung, HTC lets users have fun in bringing out the best in their photos. As users check their Zoe gallery, they get a "Harry Potter" feel when browsing photos, says a reviewer for MiniPCPro. (Scroll down to see the video.)

The Zoe camera uses Ultrapixels as opposed to the conventional Megapixels for easier light capture. The numbers are at 13MP to 4MP in favor of the Samsung S4. However, when it comes to low light shooting, the One could surprise users. It will take a couple more weeks before we could round up user reviews for HTC One as the company had to delay release over component supply issues. In Australia, MobiCity announced the HTC One availability has been adjusted to Mar. 25.
