Turkey's courts have blocked access to Twitter a little over a week before elections as Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan battles a corruption scandal that has seen social media awash with alleged evidence of government wrongdoing. The ban came hours after a defiant Erdogan, on the campaign trail ahead of key March 30 local elections, vowed to "wipe out" Twitter and said he did not care what the international community had to say about it. The long wait is over for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A users who want to update to the Android 4.4.3 KitKat. The Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware is now available for download and installation. Similar to other Android updates, some users may have early access while others may have to wait for a few more days to upgrade. Update schedule and firmware availability also depend on the carrier and region of the user.

According to a report by SamMobile, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update rollout for Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A has already started in Scandinavia. Previously, the LTE-A version came with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. As mentioned, Android updates usually come in phases. The ETA for some owners may depend on their location and carrier. There should be an update notification if the firmware is already available. Users only need to tap on the notification. There should be on-screen instructions available.

Users can also check for the update manually if there is no notification. To check manually, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates. Samsung KIES is also another option. Connect the device to the computer via USB canble and check for the firmware through the KIES.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update offers a number of changes to the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A model. These include transparent navigation and status bars, full screen album art, and white status bar icons, immersive mode, new Location menu and improved Samsung native apps.

Users should make sure that their WiFi connection is stable while downloading the update. The OTA requires more than 600 MB space. Failure to download the software properly may only incur unnecessary data charges. For those who do not want to wait for the OTA, there are custom ROMs available. The device needs to be rooted before any customized software can be downloaded and installed. It is also important for users to back up all important personal files and settings.
