Whispers claimed that Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is set to make its debut later this month.

Samsung is expected to release a miniature version of its recently launched Galaxy S4 just like what it did with last year's Galaxy S3. Following the release of the Galaxy S3 last year the Korean manufacturers launched the S3 Mini handset, a smaller version of the popular phone that went on to be a massive success with consumers. It looks as though the company's latest flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is also set to undergo the Mini treatment over the coming weeks.

A Twitter user by the name of St7761 has uncovered reference to four new Samsung model numbers on the company's own support page. Since their discovery these four numbers have been removed but they are all said to be variants of a new Galaxy S4 Mini handset. The numbers discovered are the GT-I9190, the GT-I9192, GT I9195 and the GT-I9198. It is believed that the 9192 is the dual SIM version of the new phone while the 9195 is a 4G version. The 9198 is said to be a Chinese model developed especially for this market while the 9190 is the main model that will be released in various markets across the globe.

Previous rumours claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini release date will be moved in June 2013. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini launch is speculated to be in June, which is also the rumoured release date of iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S.

If the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be released in June, it will battle head on with Apple's iPhone, which is set to be released around the same time. There are rumours claiming that Apple is planning to launch its flagship phone this summer. It seems that Samsung wants to take a bite on Apple's sales.

Earlier leaks claimed that the device would be launching in multiple versions with a 4.3in display and up to quad-core processor depending on model: a dual-SIM version, which will likely not launch in the UK, would feature a dual-core processor, while a single-sim version supporting either 3G HSPA+ or 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity would include a quad-core chip. All versions, however, would include the same 4.3in Super AMOLED qHD display with a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch (PPI).

While Samsung is disclosing its plans to launch a Galaxy S4 Mini, SamMobile claims to have word that it will be announcing the device later this week - with a view to releasing the device towards the end of May or the start of June. According to the site's anonymous source, the handset will be available in two colours at launch: Black Mist and White Frost.
