The long wait and speculations are over as South Korea tech giant Samsung officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini.

Consumers waited with pins and needles for the miniature version of the highly popular Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini is speculated to make its debut on June 20 in a launch event in London. Anticipation strikes when Samsung has just confirmed an upcoming Galaxy-themed event in London on June 20. Samsung is officially calling their event, the Samsung Premiere 2013.

Press invites are already going out in preparation for a meeting at London's Earl's Court on June 20 at 7 pm, UK time. The company has added that Galaxy-based devices will be the focus, and also the new ATIV brand as well - which could be a big clue on a rugged Galaxy S4 or Galaxy S4 Mini that is on the way.

In a press release, Samsung called the Galaxy S4 Mini "a powerful yet compact version of Samsung's bestselling smartphone, GALAXY S4. The GALAXY S4 mini delivers the superior performance, intuitive ease-of-use and sleek design of the GALAXY S4 in a highly portable, chic and compact design, making it an ideal companion for everyday life."

JK Shin, Samsung Electronics' CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division, said, "We appreciate such unprecedented demands for the GALAXY S4 that we aimed to provide users with life companion for a fuller, richer and simpler life. And now, we want to give people more choices with GALAXY S4 mini, similar look & feel of GALAXY S4 for more compact and practical usages. The new GALAXY S4 mini provides consumers with a new way to enjoy the flagship GALAXY S4 experience."

The press release adds, "With a 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED display, 107g light weight and compact design, the GALAXY S4 mini is easy to carry and operate with one hand. Though compact, the GALAXY S4 mini also boasts powerful performance, equipped with a 1.7GHz dual core processor that allows users to quickly and easily perform data intensive tasks. The GALAXY S4 mini supports many intuitive features and services provided by the GALAXY S4, designed enhance every facet of life."

Design - Both devices will sport the same plastic design.

Screen Display - Samsung Galaxy S3 features a 4-inch screen display with 800x480 pixels resolution. The new Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will have a slightly larger screen display of 4.3 inches with 960x540 pixels.

Processor - Both devices will be powered by dual core processor but the S3 Mini is clocked at 1GHz and S4 Mini is clocked at 1.7GHz.

RAM - The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini featured 1GB of RAM and the S4 Mini has 1.5GB.

Internal Storage - The Galaxy S4 Mini is available with 8GB of internal storage with microSD slot while its predecessor is available in 8GB and 16GB variants with additional storage via microSD.

Operating System - Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini runs with the 4.1 version of Android Jelly Bean operating system. The new smartphone will run with the latest 4.2.2 version of Jelly Bean.

Battery - The Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini has 1,500 mAh battery. The S4 Mini is equipped with 1,900 mAh battery life.
