Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Set in June, says GS4 Case Maker
Samsung Galaxy S4's release date could be sometime around June, according to a company making the cases of the smartphone.
Accessory manufacturer Pelican recently displayed its upcoming case line called Pelican ProGear and its banner has some well-known devices on it such as the iPhone 5, iPad, and iPad Mini. The case maker also happened to make cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4.
Pelican also announced that its new Samsung Galaxy S4 case will be arriving in June, hinting at the release for that smartphone taking place that month.
Some of the rumoured specifications for the Galaxy S4 include a 5-inch FHD sAMOLED 1980 x 1080 Flexible Display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie, a 13-megapixel camera, and Samsung's latest processor, the Exynos 5 Octa that the company introduced at CES.
The Exynos 5 Octa is actually the world's first eight-core processor and would make Samsung's Galaxy S4 the most powerful smartphone on the market.
Samsung introduced the Exynos 5 Octa, which is an 8-Core processor. Samsung confirmed that this new processor will be featured on some of its upcoming products lined up this year. Samsung said that this new chip will allow smartphone and tablet users to perform multi-tasking without lag.
"Level of pure processing power, never seen before in mobile devices and more detailed damage to cards, then ever before," said a Samsung executive at its keynote at the CES event.
Samsung also stated that the new Exynos processor has twice the graphics performance of anything that its currently available on the market, but that it is also very frugal, for up to 70 percent power savings. It uses Cortex-A7 cores for the mundane tasks, and Cortex-A15 ones for the more sophisticated ones.
Samsung re-introduced the public to its YOUM flexible display at CES, which could also end up being used when the Galaxy S4 is built.
Samsung's goal with the new flexible displays is to allow users to fold their tablets and phones for easy storage and portability. The company could also take advantage of the technology by having a smartphone with a screen extending to the sides where the notifications can be displayed even when the handset is lying down on a flat surface.
Samsung confirmed that the technology is almost ready to be used and should appear on upcoming smartphones and tablets including the Samsung Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to run Samsung's new Tizen OS.
The Galaxy S4 being released in June does not seem that farfetched, as Samsung launched the Galaxy S3 around that same time in 2012.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is pegged for release on either the second or third quarter of the year as it is planning for a head start over its rival. Samsung revealed that the much awaited smartphone will be released post May of this year.
However, Samsung has not yet confirmed nor denied the rumoured features of the upcoming smartphone.
