When Samsung launched the Exynos Octa 5 processor at the 2013 Consumers Electronics Show (CES), it was immediately speculated that the latest processor will be incorporated in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4. The rumors had an interesting twist after a Korean publication claimed that Samsung will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor instead.

Though the technology giant remains tight-lipped about the Galaxy S4 features and specifications, the device enthusiasts will probably debate on which processor Samsung should choose. The Galaxy S4 is expected to offer an improved performance compared to its predecessor Samsung Galaxy S3.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon processor is designed to provide great battery life to a smart phone. LG Optimus G Pro is already equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor as well as in the recently announced HTC One.

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy S3 with a Qualcomm processor in the United States to support 4G LTE feature. If the company utilizes the Snapdragon processor in the Samsung Galaxy S4, it will put in more plus points to the smart phone before its official launch. There is a possibility that Samsung will release the Galaxy S4 with the Snapdragon 600 in the United States while the international areas will use the Exynos Octa 5 version.

Brian White, the Topeka Capital Markets Analyst, is confident that Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone will have a remarkable performance. The analyst believes 2013 will be the rivalry year between the two technology giants, Samsung and Apple.

Samsung Galaxy S4 will reportedly have its launch on a March 14 event in New York City followed by a full release in April. Meanwhile, other reports suggest that a Samsung Galaxy S4 release will occur on May or June in the United States.
