Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are confusing many Android phone shoppers today. The rumoured iPhone 5S is not even in the picture for many of these buyers. If they're buying a super smartphone this year, it would be either one of the two Android handsets.

HTC One, formerly known as M7, is only 9.3mm thick. Its aluminum chassis looks very classy against the dated body and design of the Samsung Galaxy S4. Inside the One is a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor on board a Qualcomm chip. It comes with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and 32GB internal storage. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. Buyers are being drawn to its Sense Voice, Blinkfeed, and the One's Ultrapixel camera and Zoe gallery. The phone's 4.7-inch Full HD display (468 pixels per inch) is also a big attraction.

Like the HTC One, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is boasting of a robust system under the hood: quad-core 1.9GHz Krait 300, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset, 16GB storage (expandable to up to 64 GB), and 2GB RAM. Its 5-inch screen is boosted with Samsung's brilliant Super AMOLED technology. But why couldn't the S4 easily stand out against the One?

Considering design innovation, "it's hard to take the S4 seriously next to a gorgeous piece of hardware like the HTC One," writes Brent Rose of Gizmodo.com.

"I think if I were in the market for a phone right now, between the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One, I'd take the HTC One. Just a better phone," tweets Neil Rasmuson.

Which of the two super Android devices appeal to your discriminating taste? Perhaps you can help Twitter users @Winkleberry12 and @hfischmann:

"(M)y birthday is on Saturday... Should I get the HTC one or Samsung Galaxy S4??? #cantdecide"

"Looking for a phone, Samsung GS4 reviews are positive but my GS2 isn't lasting the 2 years of my contract. Should I go HTC One or iPhone?"

@djdarren Read a review of the s4 earlier and it looks like a joke. HTC One or Nexus 4 far better.
