Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom: New Patent Points to the Likely Make of the Samsung's Latest Phone
Samsung is reportedly coming out with the camera-centric Galaxy S4 to be named Galaxy S4 Zoom on its rumoured June 2014 release date.
Based on reports, the handset is configured as a stand-alone camera phone or a high-end mobile phone with generous snapping features, chief among them an optical zoom with capabilities similar to that of the Galaxy Camera.
Or both if the new report from Patent Bolt is to be believed. In a new approved Samsung patent that the site has unearthed, a device is shown with two-faces - one side flashes the familiar Galaxy smartphone profile while the other side displays the Galaxy camera look that Samsung issued earlier this year.
Easily, the graphic illustration alluded to a physical fusion of the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Camera, thereby producing a camera phone that essentially serves the powers of the two gadgets - now packed into one.
The render is definitely standout but it remains a mystery how Samsung will be able to shave off enough bulk from the planned hybrid device, which can be called camphone, in order to deliver comfortable handling to users.
The new Samsung patent is scarce on details but per recent reports by SamMobile, the GS4 Zoom is a mid-range smartphone with high-end shooting capabilities that will please even the most discriminating photo professionals.
Its 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display is matched by a dual-core CPU (a quad-core chip is also a possibility) and 8GB of internal storage plus up to 64GB of additional memory thanks to the microSD expansion slot.
Citing its unnamed sources, SamMobile reported that the Zoom will be released first week of June and apparently, Samsung has picked select markets in Europe as initial recipients of the gadget that potentially will open up another market front for the South Korean tech giant.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom pricing range remains a mystery though the price level is seen not to steer away from the price tag of the Galaxy Camera, which sells between $US400 and $US500 with the Wi-Fi model being the cheaper version.
