Samsung may drop the fingerprint security on the upcoming Galaxy S5 but the company may decide to impart YOUM flexible screen technology on their 2014 flagship smartphone. This will be added to other tons of features such as 3GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and 3200 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S5 with YOUM Screen Display

YOUM display is aimed by Samsung to first appear on the upcoming Galaxy Note 3 Active which features flexible, unbreakable, thin and light body but the technological breakthrough is also rumoured to become a part of the 2014 flagship smartphone Galaxy S5.

At this time, Samsung may consider a fingerprint security scanner of their own to match Apple's iPhone 5S. Samsung plans to use its little project called CrucialTech as the main fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S5.

According to DigitalJournal, CrucialTech may not go well as planned due to the current technology it uses which is behind Authentec - iPhone 5S current fingerprint scanner - based from Woori Investment and Securities analyst Kim Hye-Joong. Another angle is the crucial 10 per cent stake of Samsung in Pantech which is the rival company implementing fingerprint technology in some of Samsung's phones.

Even if they leave out the fingerprint scanner, Galaxy S5 will gain tremendous benefit from YOUM flexible screen technology once applied and it includes:

- Flexible and foldable body

- Unbreakable properties

- Shatterproof

- Lightweight

- Ultra-thin design

However, YOUM display screens are made from plastic which could contrast Samsung's aim for metallic design to change the Galaxy S line and the simply solution make the YOUM variant as Galaxy S5 Active instead while the premium variant will become the flagship smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Rumoured Specifications

YOUM display, metallic components, ultra-slim RAM and a larger battery unit are some speculated new technological innovation included to the Galaxy S5. But other aspects in performance and properties are also expected to be upgraded such as:

- 5.3-inches of flexible plastic OLED display screen

- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or 4.4 KitKat

- 2GHz Exynos 5 octa-core or 64-bit CPU core

- 3GB of RAM with ultra-slim chip

- 32GB/64GB/128GB internal storage, the 128GB may be a developer edition variant

- 3200 mAh battery unit

Samsung Galaxy S5 may be announced as early as January at the CES 2014 event and possibly to be released on March or late April, following the Galaxy S traditional launching date.
