Samsung Galaxy S5 2014 Release Date to be Advanced as Galaxy Note 3 Shipment Clocks 5M in 2 Months?
Will Samsung rush the supposed Feb 2014 release date of its next flagship, the rumoured Galaxy S5, as the company's third-gen phablet, the Galaxy Note 3, reportedly shipped out some five million units two months after its debut?
It's a matter of striking while the iron hot, which in Samsung's case is the recently rolled out Note 3.
Reports from BGR, citing Korea's Hankooki.com as source, indicated that Samsung has already shipped out around five million Note 3s after only a short period of the device's global circulation. No doubt, the numbers signal that the latest phablet has become a hot item, which is a trend that Samsung can surely swing to its favour.
One sure-fire way to do that is to advance the deployment of the South Korean tech giant's hero phone - the Galaxy S5.
The dominant discussion at the moment is, the GS5 would become a reality as early as Feb 2014 but Samsung would likely stretch the momentum that the Note 3 has gained, a move that could also steamroll the company's aim to stay on top of the global smartphone war.
The iPhone 5S is definitely moving up and analysts predict that Apple is poised to collect a giant windfall in Q4 2013, thanks largely to the new iOS 7 smartphone. Then the rumoured iPhone 6, said to be the first Apple phablet, is coming out any time in 2014.
In unleashing the Galaxy S5 sooner than expected, Samsung would be hitting two birds in one stone - continue its gallop to high revenues and keep up its fierce rivalry with Apple's iPhone models.
And one more thing that could prod the Asian tech giant to unwrap the GS5 a little earlier is the supposed steady declining sales number of the Galaxy S4. With a new handset in sight, Sammy fans would not be tempted to test drive the competition's offerings.
It appears that the Galaxy S5 is a powerful and beautiful device to wait for. According to earlier reports, it will be sporting a more powerful and faster 64-bit computing chip with 4GB of RAM. The form-factor would be based on the Galaxy Note 3, which so far has been a delight by a number of reviews.
It was reported too that the next Galaxy flagship is flashing a 13MP camera with optical image stabilisation though a Gotta Be Mobile report seemed to suggest that the camera feature would likely skip out the GS5 package.
In any event that the Galaxy S5 landing will happen sooner, the release date should be set around January 2014, which is way advanced from the rumoured iPhone 6 touchdown on summer of the same year.
