Recently, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note 3 were seen running on the beta version of the latest Android build. However, even before the releasing the Android Lollipop for Galaxy S4 GPE, the Galaxy S5 has been treated with the latest Android OS flavour. PhoneArena claims that by the end of the year, even owners of Galaxy S5 in the U.S. will also be able to upgrade their device.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop is first ever Android edition to come out first as a developer preview. It is also the first Android version to support 64-bit CPUs. The Android 5.0 Lollipop was released on Nov. 12. A recently published report from TechCrunch reveals that the Android 5.0 Lollipop is currently running on lesser than 0.1 percent of Android smartphones. At the moment, the most popular Android edition is v4.4.4 KitKat which accounts for 33.9 percent of market share. When the KitKat OS was released, in the first month it recorded a low market share of 0.01. However, in the following months, it grew very quickly. The same is expected from the new Android build.
