Samsung Galaxy S5 features may include an LDS Antenna just like the Galaxy Note 3 to pack that slimmer body.

The thinness of the device is one of the characteristics that buyers are looking for when buying new handsets. According to ETNews, Samsung Galaxy S5 may be thinner than its predecessor with the integration of an antenna technology that was previously used in Galaxy Note 3 to make the device thinner.

The inclusion of LDS antenna in Galaxy S5 may also speed up the manufacturing process since the company adjusts its antenna design to correspond with multiple versions per country. The report added that it usually takes Samsung three weeks to change antenna frequency design to correspond with specific regions or countries. However, since Samsung uses LDS-type cases with built-in antennas, the manufacturing process was reduced to three to four days.

However, users are warned if their handsets come with LDS antenna as devices with such feature usually suffers with connectivity problems once dropped. The shock from the fall probably breaks the antennas sandwiched between the layers of plastic.

The same Korean Web site reported that Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released on the first quarter of next year. The device is claimed to be launched with Galaxy Note 3 Lite and Galaxy Grand Lite. Furthermore, other low-end smartphones may be released by the end of Q1 2014. Samsung Galaxy S5 may make an appearance either on Consumer Electronics Show or Mobile World Congress next year.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features may also pack 14nm 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU, 16MP ISOCELL camera and 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD screen display with 560 ppi resolution. The handset may also sport a metal casing just like the recently released Samsung Galaxy J in Taiwan. A metal built is also confirmed by reports that Samsung will receive 10 to 30 million units of metal cases from Taiwanese supplier Catcher Technologies later this month. Another report stated Samsung Galaxy S5 may pack a different operating system and may steer away from Google's Android. The smartphone may run with a combination of Tizen OS and Firefox OS.
