Announcement on February 23
April 2014 is the confirmed launching date of the Galaxy S5 but according to new rumour, it will appear at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. According to Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin, Samsung may not wait until March to hold an event for Galaxy S5 and instead announce it on February 23, one day before Mobile World Congress event begins.
If so, audience will get a glimpse of what Samsung has to offer on the next-generation Galaxy S smartphone scheduled for April official launching. SamMobile noted that Murtazin isn't 100 per cent accurate on every leak but was correct on the launch date of Galaxy S4 back in 2013.
Murtazin's claim may actually happen for a Tizen smartphone is expected to make a show off on the very same day before MWC.
Galaxy S5 and Tizen
Samsung and Intel have finally decided to show off a Tizen OS running smartphone at the Mobile World Congress this year which may become a tough opponent of Android flagship devices this year.
"An exclusive sneak preview of the newest Tizen devices as well as an opportunity to learn about the major milestones that the Tizen project has hit since last year's event," invitation sent by Samsung and Intel according to ITNews.
According to analysts, Samsung is pressured by other commercial smartphones running different OS such as FireFox and Jolla that pushed the company to finally show more of what Tizen can offer. Back in 2013, Samsung and Intel failed to launch a Tizen smartphone at the initial planned date and managed to release one by the second half of the year.
