Samsung has yet to complete the rollout of the Android 5.0 Lollipop and Android 5.1 updates. However, the multitude of devices under the company also makes it difficult for some to keep track of the company's schedule. Here are some leads on what's happening with Samsung devices such as Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 with their corresponding Android firmware rollouts.

Samsung started releasing Android updates on streak December. Devicesinclude Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3. As with other devices, the rollout is in phases. For Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 3 owners, they should wait for the "Download now" prompt then "Install." To check manually, go to Settings > About device > Software updates > Check for software updates.

Despite the promised improvements, the Android update continues to be plagued with issues. The recent addition to the pile is the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. A lot of users have raised recently that their devices kill apps too quickly while also taking up as much RAM space. Whereas the Android 5.0 Lollipop has been linked with memory leaks, SamMobile argues that it should not make the OS that much aggressive when it comes to preventing apps in memory under other units. Users will have to wait for Samsung and Google to issue a fix on this.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition, users can now celebrate as the Android 5.1 is reportedly on its way. The notification could start rolling out sometime soon according to unnamed sources. The schedule and access may also depend on the location and provider of the user. It is best to check exact schedules with respective providers.
