While the market did not go crazy over the release of the Samsung Galaxy Round and LG G Flex, these handsets provided an insight on what people can expect from the future of touch screen technology. As Apple and Samsung invest on the feature, the value of curved screens appears to increase by the day. If not, companies will not spend their investments on the technology.

Based from the reports on the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Apple iPhone 6, many analysts are starting to get convinced that the next wave handsets and devices will have flexible screens. Analysts also believe that the flexible screen will become a standard among the biggest names in tech. There is also current buzz on wraparound or edge-to-edge screens to hit the market soon.

As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy S5 tops the list of reported devices to feature the flexible display this coming 2014. Others include the LG Nexus 6, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the LG G3. There are no official confirmations from the companies of the mentioned devices. However, it is also worthwhile to take note of surfacing reports.

Most of the leaks and rumored specs of devices have sprung up for a good reason. Likewise, looking at the track record of such companies - the reported details are likely to be true. Samsung already started their bid with the curved screens with the Galaxy Round. It will not be impossible to see the curved screen and flexible display on the company's next flagship phone.

Analysts also expressed that these companies will soon realize the benefits of investing in such advancement. Whereas, curved screens have yet to make their mark, wraparound screens offer a completely different story. The theory is that touch screens will be able to feature or curve across to the edges of the devices. This can highlight the bezel and bring forth new possibilities. Companies can add touch-control and display functions on the edges or sides of the handsets and other devices.

It will be an entirely different user experience.

People will have to wait until the Mobile World Congress and other announcement from tech manufacturers to see how these curved, wraparound and flexible displays will perform.
