Samsung Galaxy S5 to Launch with Samsung Galaxy Gear 2
The hype over Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S5 continues to build up. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has been a very successful franchise that people are interested whether the refreshed line will be just as great. Along with reports citing a 16MP camera and a 64-bit CPU on the Samsung Galaxy S5, there are also reports saying that the Korean tech giant will be released alongside the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2.
According to a report from Korean Site ET News, a Samsung official dished out details about upcoming devices for next year. The unnamed Samsung official also reportedly said that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will likely be released alongside the Galaxy Gear 2. Seemingly, the Korean tech giant is planning to open 2014 with a bang.
If the info leak from the unnamed official is to be believed, then the Gear 2 will likely be around "15% to 20% [better] than previous production". This will make it more comfortable to use and better for the wrist of users.
The spokesperson was quoted indicating that people can use the Galaxy Gear 2 together with the Galaxy S5 smartphone. This means the smartwatch can be synced to the next flagship handset to do wonders. Analysts expect bundle deals to spring up when the launching of the two products become official. This is the same as how the Galaxy Note 3 and the first generation Gear were packaged.
There are also reports saying that Galaxy Gear 2 will have deeper or better integration with Galaxy S5. The source revealed that it is possible for people to use the smartwatch for entertainment, games and healthcare functions. However, Samsung has not released any official announcement yet on how these features actually work. People will have to wait until the Korean tech giant clarifies and confirms how these features are to be integrated into the smartwatch.
Additionally, analysts think that Samsung is also targeting the market of fitness enthusiasts with their smartwatch. The company can cover both entertainment and fitness markets with one device. So far, Samsung has been successful in diversifying products but also uniting markets, so this move will certainly hold great potentials for the company.
