Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display, while the Galaxy S4 Mini comes with a relatively lesser 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display. The screen resolution and the pixel density of S5 Mini and S4 Mini stand at (720 x 1,280 pixels & 326 ppi) and (540 x 960 pixels & 256 ppi) respectively.

The Galaxy S4 Mini runs on Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean (upgradable to v4.4.2 KitKat), whereas the Galaxy S5 Mini runs on Android v4.4.2 KitKat. In addition, both the phones utilize Samsung's custom UI TouchWiz on top of Android OS.
Moreover, the Galaxy S4 Mini houses 8 GB of internal storage, while the latest S5 Mini comes equipped with 16 GB of internal memory. In addition, both the phones support microSD card for expansion up to 64 GB.

1. The latest Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini features water and dust resistant exterior. Hence the device is IP67 certified. However, the predecessor Galaxy S4 Mini doesn't.
