The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus is an upgraded edition of the Galaxy S5 which is the flagship smartphone of 2014 from Samsung. Just as the Galaxy S5 LTE-A arrived after the original Samsung Galaxy S4, in the same way the Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus has arrived with advanced LTE connection and enhanced performance. It has a model number of SM-G901F. According to NDTV, the handset has been listed on its Netherlands website.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 that came out last April this year impressed the tech world with powerful hardware specifications and features. It is powered with Snapdragon 801 SoC that contains a quad-core Krait 400 processor that processes at 2.5 GHz along with Adreno 330 graphics.

It is the same chipset that is present under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The only other smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 805 chipset is the recently launched Google Nexus 6 phablet. Motorola Droid Turbo that has not launched yet also features the Snapdragon 805 chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Plus features a Snapdragon 805 SoC that also delivers the same clocking speed of 2.5 GHz, but through a new Krait 450 quad-core processor. Instead of Adreno 330 graphics, the Galaxy S5 Plus features Adreno 420 graphics. According to Forbes, the Snapdragon 805 SoC present under the hood of Galaxy S5 Plus has been downclocked to run at 2.5 GHz. The same chipset produces a speed of 2.7 GHz on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

On Galaxy S5 that features category 4 LTE modem, users can reach download and upload speeds of up to 150 Mbps and 50 Mbps, respectively. The new Galaxy S5 Plus has a category 6 LTE modem (support for LTE-A connectivity) because of which download speeds have been upgraded to up to 300 Mbps whereas the upload speed remains at 50 Mbps.

Most of the other specs of the Galaxy S5 are available on the Galaxy S5 Plus smartphone. It features 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED screen, 2 GB RAM, 16 MP camera without OIS, 4K UHD recording, 16 GB internal storage and microSD storage support. Since it is an IP67 certified device, it remains protected from dust and water. It is housed with a 2,800 mAh battery.
