If you have been on the watch for the Samsung Galaxy S5 in Australia, then you'd be happy to know that preorders are already available for Europe and the AU before the April 11 release date.

Four carriers in Australia have already confirmed to carry the Samsung Galaxy S5, which include Virgin Mobile, Telstra, Optus and Vodafone. However, Ausdroid adds that the pricing may not be as cheap as expected. Mobicity, a distributor of wholesale devices in Australia, has put the price of the Samsung Galaxy S5 somewhere between $899.95 plus delivery charges.

In Europe, the repot sites Clove as the exporter with the price tag of £458.33 plus delivery charges for the standard Samsung Galaxy S5 black or white version.

Third-party apps: Somewhere else to use the fingerprint sensor

The Samsung Galaxy S5's fingerprint sensor may be more than just a gimmicky tool to unlock your device--it may now be a way to replace the method of getting through your third-party apps instead of typing in a multitude of passwords.

In a report from GSM Arena, it was stated that developers are now exploring the idea of using the fingerprint scanner, starting with the Pass API that was released as a dev kit for the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Already, Paypal has made use of the fingerprint scanner, and now allows confirming payments with the use of the Samsung Galaxy S5's new features. This is an open API, which allows other third-party apps to make use of this feature, whereas Apple's own fingerprint scanner is limited to its own Apple apps.

64-bit processor coming this year--missed the Galaxy S5?

With the specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 finally revealed, one particular feature that had been hyped before the MWC 2014 was very evidently missing: the 64-bit processor.

Almost every source had referred to the possibility that this new technology will be seen in the Samsung Galaxy S5, or at least be showcased in some form during the event. Though that is a no-show, seeing the 64-bit processor this year may not necessarily be impossible.

Phone Arena reports that the 64-bit processor may be showcased this year, though the specifics, like the time window or the possible event for reveal has not been detailed. Kyushik Hong, VP of marketing for the LSI business for Samsung, has stated that the 64-bit processor is something that has a demand in the market, causing Samsung to actively work on its own prototype.

This isn't surprising, considering that biggest competitor Apple already has its own 64-bit ARMv8 processor for the iPhone 5S, while other brands including Qualcomm, Intel, and Nvidia already have their own 64-bit processors.

But until the Android OS receives support and optimization for 64-bit processors, Samsung may keep working on their future processor.
