While the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime has been rumoured to come as the premium version of the South Korean company's flagship phone, there have been previous hints it may come either with a different name (Galaxy F) or another named device with a variety of features.

Recently, Samsung announced a new variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5, though only for the South Korean market.

According to Engadget, the new device, the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, will feature a 5.1-inch WQHD display with 2,560 x 1,440 resolution that boosts it over the LG G3, the Snapdragon 805 chipset from Qualcomm, 3 GB of RAM, LTE-A capability for 225 Mbps support and 4K video playback capability.

GSM Arena adds other specific features, like the 16-MP rear and 2-MP front camera, 2,800 mAh battery, the IP67 certification of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Samsung customisation apps.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A has been compared to biggest rival and yet to be released LG G3 for the U.S. market. Android Central reports the density of the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A (577 ppi) is above the LG G3's 538 ppi.

And though it mimics the same slim bezels as the LG G3, it's even lighter at 145 g compared to the LG G3's 149 g. However, the display sizes are quite different, because the 5.1-inch display of the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is smaller than the LG G3 with its 5.5-inch display.

However, the famed premium feature, the metal body, is not stated in any of the reports, which could mean there is still hope for a Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime.

For those interested in the newest Samsung device, it's currently only available in South Korea for 940,500 South Korean Won with the SKT, KT and LGU+ carriers. It aso comes in a variety of colours, including Charcoal Black, Glam Red, Shimmery White, Copper Gold, Sweet Pink and Electric Blue.

Another Samsung device is getting the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update, and it's the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. According to SamMobile, the update will already begin to roll out for the device, proof that Samsung does take care of mid-range devices in its lineup.

The source reports the update is currently rolling out in France and will be coming to a number of regions in the following days. It will be available via the Over the Air download or the Samsung Kies.
