As the Samsung Galaxy S5 makes headlines, recent reports said the Korean flagship phone will also come with Galaxy S5 Mini and S5 Zoom.

Analysts thought it is possible for the company to release several variants simultaneously. If there is one thing Samsung has been doing successfully, it is diversifying its products. Despite several choices, Samsung has managed to gain a good market share. With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and its other variants, can the Korean tech giant replicate the same success?

Samsung released a series of tablets during the CES 2014. According to several sources, the company plans to release a wide range of handsets during the Mobile World Congress 2014 in February. Prior to the tip about the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and S5 Zoom, there were already reports about Samsung releasing two variants.

Some reports said the two variants will be at the higher end and mid-range models. Samsung wants to extend the Samsung Galaxy S5 series to a range of markets. Despite the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S5, a Bloomberg report said Samsung will release the handset around mid-March or April. It will follow a similar timeline to the Samsung Galaxy S4.

In 2013, Samsung revealed Galaxy S4, S4 Mini and S4 Active, including S4 Zoom.

Some of the reported specs include 2560 x 1440, 5.25-inch display, LTE support and Exynos 6 chip. It may also run with Google's Android 4.4 KitKat. While there have been sources confirming the release of the Galaxy S5 spinoffs, some reports said Samsung plans on holding another event aside from the MWC. People will have to wait for Samsung's official announcement.

There were also reports saying the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature an AMOLED display. Samsung supposedly started mass production to complete the demand before the expected release. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released in 5 to 6 months ahead of Apple's iPhone 6. Analysts believed this will give the company market advantage although Apple may take the price for the holiday sales. Consumers will have to wait until both phones hit the stores to decide which wins.
