Samsung Galaxy S5 release date could be in April 2014, according to a report.

GottaBeMobile reported the next Samsung flagship phone will be launched sometime in April, which is a month before the new rumored release of Apple's iPhone 6.

Previously, it was reported Samsung Galaxy S5 will arrive as early as January 2014 either at the Consumer Electronics Show or the Mobile World Congress. However, new predictions pointed that Samsung Galaxy S5 release may collide with iPhone 6 since the device may arrive late April. Moreover, Samsung Galaxy S4 was also released in April 2013.

According to the report, April is the best time for Samsung to release its new Galaxy S smartphone as this will ensure that consumers worldwide will get hold of the handset on time, according to their choice, variants and specification such as colors, storage and configurations.

Early this month, reports claimed Samsung is already working on qHD screen displays with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution and an iris scanner for its upcoming devices. Reports said the features could make the debut in the Samsung Galaxy S5. Sources also noted Samsung is experimenting with Tizen OS making the tech community assume that the company will ditch Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. This may disappoint many waiting buyers.

Samsung fans are also hoping to see the Galaxy S5 to be packed in a metal casing and not in the old plastic body that previous Samsung Galaxy S devices sported. Consumers jumped from their seats when the South Korean company launched the Galaxy J in Taiwan this month showing off a metal built.

However, a new report from DigiTimes denied the previous rumors and claimed no metal chassis is on its way to production and that Samsung is still mulling whether to pack such feature in its next Galaxy S handset.
