Samsung Galaxy S5 may be unveiled at next year's Mobile World Congress event that will be held on Feb 24 to 27.

Rumours claimed that the Galaxy S5 will be introduced at MWC event 2014. However, it is more likely that the smartphone will hold its official unveiling event.

Initial reports claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 release date will be in March next year, and the smartphone may be available for purchase in April.

This rumour stemmed from the patterned release date of the previous Samsung Galaxy S4, which was announced in March and was released the following month. However, everyone should treat this with a grain of salt.

As we all know, Samsung is not strictly following a calendar when it comes to releasing their smartphones. For instance, in 2012, the very much popular Samsung Galaxy S3 was introduced on May 3 and was released on the 29th of the same month.

According to the latest reports, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a 64-bit processor just like the recently released iPhone 5S. Android Authority cited Korean news Web site Daum and stated that the processor chip is on its final stage of production.

This is supported by the assuring statement of Samsung's CEO JK Shin who said that Samsung will bring 64-bit processors to the market next year.

Aside from 64-bit processor, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will also pack the upcoming Android 4.4 KitKat, which will surely bring new and improved features to Android-based smartphones. If these rumours are true, it makes sense that these two features would come hand in hand. A presentation at the Intel's Developer Forum event last week suggested that Android 4.4. KitKat will only support 64-bit processors.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours also noted Sharp's new IGZO screen technology and 4K screen resolution.

Meanwhile, other reports claimed that Samsung will stop the Galaxy S series and will be replaced by the Galaxy F. The Samsung Galaxy S5, or it may come in a different name, could be the first smartphone in this series.
