Samsung Galaxy S5 release date may occur as early as January as the sales of Galaxy S4 rapidly declines, according to analysts.

Analysts said the sales of Samsung Galaxy S4, the current flagship smartphone, is slowing down and fairly below Samsung's expectations. So it would be difficult for the company to show off strong financial figures in Q1 2014 solely based on the Galaxy S4. This puts the South Korean company on the spot and is currently under pressure to release another smartphone to sustain its excellent financial performance over the past few quarters.

Due to this mounting pressure, analysts added Samsung may release another smartphone to boost the sales figures of the company. This new smartphone could be the Samsung Galaxy S5 that will make up for the declining sales of its predecessor. If the Galaxy S5 proved to be a hit, it will provide great support to Samsung Galaxy Note 3's stellar sales performance with 10 million units in 2 months.

Reports claimed Samsung is bringing the Galaxy S5 to the market sooner. Mass production may begin in January. If the unpacked event will take place early next year, the device will go on sale in February.

This coincides with the report from ETNews that the Samsung Galaxy S5 may be launched alongside other Samsung products. The device will most probably make an appearance at either Consumer Electronics Show or Mobile World Congress. However, Samsung has not confirmed anything yet.

Rumors noted the Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack a new and sophisticated metallic design as metal cases are reportedly for shipping later this month. The S5 may also have an LDS antenna like the Galaxy Note 3 to pack a slimmer body.

The device may pack a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution and 560 ppi. The device will be powered by 14 nm 64-bit Exynos processor clocked at 2.5 GHz. The handset may also pack a 16 MP camera and a separate Adreno 330 GPU. The handset will most likely pack the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. With all of the power-hogging features mentioned, the handset will need a long-lasting battery life.
