Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date May Not Have Curved Screen Display and Metal Frame; Smartphone to Retain Plastic Built?
Samsung Galaxy S5 may not pack a curved screen display and a metal frame and will keep its plastic body.
Highlight Press bravely stated that the recent leaked parts showing a metal frame for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 were all fake. This breaks the hearts of many waiting fans who are expecting that the next Galaxy S smartphone will pack a stronger and more sophisticated built.
French tech Web site Nowhereelse previously published a photo of an alleged internal metallic shell that is intended for the Samsung Galaxy S5. However, it is predicted that the device will retain its plastic casing, which is one of the biggest criticism against Samsung Galaxy S4 that left many consumers disappointed.
The report continued that the Samsung Galaxy S5 may not also pack the rumoured curved screen display that Samsung is allegedly working on. There is no clear reason why the feature will be skipped in the upcoming smartphone.
Meanwhile, other reports claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not be an Android smartphone and will pack a different operating system. The smartphone may run with a combination of Tizen OS and Firefox OS ditching Android 4.4 KitKat OS, which is another disappointment.
Samsung's Chief Secretary Wonsuk Lee said that Samsung is working on its relationship with the aforementioned companies. This could be a sign that Samsung is breaking up with Google's Android. According to Mr. Lee, since both Tizen and Firefox OS are HTML5 based, apps written for one platform can work on the other. The Firefox OS is expected to be used on entry-levels smartphones and the Tizen OS will be able to work on both low and high end models.
Mr. Lee confirmed that smartphones packed with Tizen OS will be release on the first half of 2014. There may be a little problem with Mozilla's mobile software as Mozilla wants to keep the name of its mobile software Boot2Gecko OS being used on handsets created for OEMs.
Some of the other rumoured features to be packed on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 are 14nm 64-bit Exynos 6 CPU, 16MP ISOCELL camera and 2,560 x 1,440 WQHD and 560 ppi resolution.
