Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Update, S5 to Feature Diamond Metal Surface
It appears the debate continues whether the Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a metal body or not. According to recent reports, Korean sources hinted that Samsung will pursue the metal body surface. Only this time, it will not just pursue the metal body, the smartphone will feature a diamond metal surface.
Sounds interesting? According to a report by ETNews, the Korean tech giant has been pushing its R&D department to develop a different kind of metal body. It is highly likely that the next smartphone to feature the newest design will be the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Contrary to what most people will think, the "diamond metal surface treatment technology" will not use actual diamonds in the process. Using real diamonds will increase the production by tenfold although the reports said that Samsung appears to have found its way around it. ETNews added that Samsung may create a synthetic diamond material. Carbon will be exposed to high pressures and temperatures to create the material.
The report also mentioned that the "diamond-like" material included in the coating can strengthen the scratch-free resistant nature of the device. The diamond metal surface technology will supposedly go against Apple's sapphire technology in the iPhone 6.
Other details reported include an iris scanner and 2k display. There was also the AnTuTu Benchmark sighting. According to the report, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will run on a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor. While other sources claimed a 2k display, there are also claiming that the device will sport a 1080p display. People will have to wait until Samsung puts out an official announcement.
There was also information saying that Samsung plans to announce the Galaxy S5 during the Mobile World Congress or the MWC. However, the release will reportedly be at a later date around March or April. Other features reported include 16MP isocell camera, 64-bit processor and Android 4.4 KitKat. The OS may change if Google decides to come out with a newer platform though chances for the 4.4 on the S5 are high.
It is still confusing what the Korean tech giant is planning. There are many leaks and reports but no final details yet. It is best for people to wait for the final announcement to know what to expect.
