Samsung Galaxy S5 may be almost invincible, as the smartphone is rumoured to include dustproof and water-resistant features.

According to a report from Korean news outlet ETNews, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 will include the aforementioned features that will rival those of the Sony Xperia smartphones.

Sony smartphones caught the attention of consumers because of the durability of the handsets.

The report said that Samsung decided to include such features due to the immense success of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active variant that packs the same features. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may also come with an Active variant that will also be dustproof and waterproof.

The report continued that Samsung is already trying out some materials it could use for the next generation of its flagship devices.

Aside from the aforementioned features, recent Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours claimed that the device will come with a better camera. The device will retain its 13-megapixel rear shooter. However, Samsung will further improve its camera lens and camera software to deliver clearer and sharper photos. This negates the previous rumours that the device will come with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera.

Samsung Galaxy S5 features may also include a flexible screen display, 64-bit processor, Android 4.4 KitKat OS, fingerprint sensor and longer battery life. However, some reports claimed that the 64-bit processor and fingerprint sensor may not arrive on the Galaxy S5 due to production issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is predicted to happen in the first quarter of next year, most probably in March.

However, there are reports saying that the device will make an appearance at either CES or MWC events next year. Although it is most likely that Samsung will hold its separate Unpacked event near those dates.
