The Samsung Galaxy S4 smart phone was released only last April but current speculations indicate that the South Korean company is already prepping up for its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S5. Samsung reportedly plans to feature the "Design 3.0" Aluminum body on the next Galaxy smart phone.

Tech web site "Android Geeks" reported that a reliable tipster revealed the plans of the company in utilizing aluminum in order to create a sophisticated smart phone with a much sturdy uni-body design and improvements on software. The decision to shift from plastic to aluminum could be a part of the Samsung "Design 3.0" initiative with the objective of offering future devices with a more appealing and competitive look.

The "Design 3.0" strategy may have some noteworthy downsides on the Samsung Galaxy S5 such as the non-removable battery model and a higher price tag. However, Samsung may still be able to compete with the other smart phone rival companies like HTC, Sony and Apple with the new aluminum design.

The company has not given any official statement yet on the circulating reports about the Samsung Galaxy S5 particularly with the metal bodywork. Earlier this year, the company pointed out that using the plastic shell on the smart phones allows them to manufacture the devices in a speedy way so the number of units produced meets the market demand.

Samsung further added that the plastic shell casing on their Galaxy range allows the company to release their line-up of products globally and simultaneously. Changing into a high-quality material could yield some manufacturing supply issues for the technology giant.

For the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S5, anonymous sources claimed that the next Galaxy smart phone will arrive in Spring 2014.
