Samsung Galaxy S5 is almost nearing to its release date and expected to become the company's game changer this year. However, fans and buyers should be ready to face possible issues and problems on the new Galaxy S phone. Check the five most common issues found on former flagship Galaxy S smartphone.

Processor and RAM

Samsung will market two variants of Galaxy S5 - Exynos and Snapdragon based models - which may include performance issues. Exynos-running Galaxy S4 has been reported of overheating problems even if doing simple tasks that make the device uncomfortable to use. Common causes of the Galaxy S4 overheating issue are heavy gaming, too many apps running and simultaneous activity of the octa-core processor.

Although Samsung promised improvements on the upcoming Exynos processor, be sure to check the camera and display of Galaxy S5 during heavy usage in stores to determine if there is any overheating problem.

Galaxy S Apps and TouchWiz

Galaxy S apps make flagship devices of Samsung very intelligent compared to other brands but it can also cause several issues on the performance and battery life. TouchWiz UI is something you can't separate easily with Galaxy S apps and considered to be a heavy user-interface.

Samsung updated the user interface with a newer TouchWiz magazine-based version on Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1. Once Galaxy S5 is available in stores, double check if the buttons are snappy, swipe across the home screen and app drawer multiple times to check speed and explore the new TouchWiz to make sure that it won't slowdown later on.

Battery Performance

According to leaks, Galaxy S5 will sport 2900 mAh battery pack which 300 higher than Galaxy S4. Combination of all enabled Galaxy S apps, full-throttle running TouchWiz and active wireless radios can deplete the battery in less than a day.

So the first thing you should check out is if the Power Saving tool works perfectly to control not just the wireless connection or Samsung apps but also the management of processors to save more energy.

Wireless Radios

Wi-Fi is the most commonly reported problem among flagship devices and owners usually suffer unable to connect or constant connection drops. Wi-Fi connection drops are affected by several factors but you need to make sure that Galaxy S5 has less of this issue than others.

In addition, assess the performance of 3G and 4G connectivity as most people use smartphones for mobile Internet access. Check the speed, stability and battery life under 3G or 4G connection before buying Galaxy S5.

Camera Performance

Galaxy S5 has an upgraded camera module which we can expect great performance than Galaxy S4. You might want to check for critical issues known from previous flagship such as loading problems, camera app crashing, overheating due to long use of the camera, new camera features, ISO mode, optical image stabilisation and shutter speed.

Galaxy S5 will carry the new age of Galaxy S smartphones with plastic and metal designs. And even if Galaxy S5 defeats iPhone 5S with its new 64-bit eight-core processors, it remains imperfect and you need to know if you are buying the right performance, functions and features for such a steep price.
