Samsung has already released its flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S5. Now the market awaits Apple's iPhone 6 for the final showdown. Whereas the iPhone 6 will be released sometime around September, there are reported features which can be compared against Samsung Galaxy S5. Which smartphone appears to deliver the better features? Can Apple's iPhone 6 trump Samsung Galaxy S5?

Most of the iPhone 6 specs going around these days are based on patent sightings, leaks and predications. Although the specs are not yet finalized, most of these leaks and predictions came from sources with good track record for Apple's upcoming releases. Some of these include @evleaks, Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities and Apple Insider.

Build and Design

Contrary to previous reports, Samsung did not veer away from the standard look of its Galaxy. The Samsung Galaxy S5 maintained most of what is seen on the Samsung Galaxy S4 in terms of design. The body of the device expanded slightly in all areas. This makes the phone stand out slightly when placed against its predecessor.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 features corners that a little squarer compared to before. Overall, users can stil distinguish the rounded-off shape. The reported metallic build did not materialize. Instead, Samsung opted for a silver plastic around similar to the design of the Galaxy Note 3. The Samsung Galaxy S5 also features a cover for the microUSB port. It has IP67 which certifies its water and dust proof capacities.

According to reports, the iPhone 6 will be the biggest of its kind yet. The device will come in two screen sizes: 4.7 and 5.5 offering full HD 1080 display. The iPhone 6 did not promise water or dust proof capacities although it will come with a sapphire glass screen. Sapphire is resistant to scratch and smudge and next to diamond in durability.

It was also reported that Apple will be creating the iPhone 6 as the thinnest yet. According to a report by Know Your Mobile, the chassis of the device will span only 6mm thick. It may even be called the iPhone Air because of its new build.

Storage

Apple has kept to its storage options consistently. It highly likely the device will come with storage options like 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. There may also be a 128GB variant but it is not clear yet whether Apple will push through it. Samsung Galaxy S5, on the other hand, offers 16GB and 32GB options. There is also a microSD support expandable up to 128GB.

Whereas the Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a heart monitor, Apple's iPhone 6 will reportedly come with a health fitness book and app with the iOS 8. It can monitor specific health data points including blood pressure and sugar. Apple Insider reported about a new power management system giving the iPhone the capacity to track and predict user habits and just performance and battery life.
