Samsung Galaxy S5 will be the next smartphone offering from Samsung. As the market continues to wait for the announcement and final release, the Korean tech giant has also been putting out phablets for the past few months.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is one of the most powerful phablets. Reports suggested the Galaxy S5 will inherit some of its premium features. For consumers thinking of a Samsung shift, which should be a better choice?

According to recent reports, Samsung plans to develop the Samsung Galaxy S5 in a similar fashion to Galaxy Note 3. This means the specs, design aspects and other features will follow the phablet's framework. With the similarities in design and specs, many consumers wonder whether they should wait for the flagship phone or stick to the Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung remains tight lipped about the final features of the Samsung Galaxy S5. Several reports claimed there are leaks worth noting about the smartphone's specs. According to recent data, the announcement for the device will be during the Mobile World Congress 2014. Actual release date will be around mid March or April similar to Samsung Galaxy S4's timeline.

Some of the reported specs of the S5 include Exynos 6 octa-core processor or Snapdragon 805 depending per region and LTE support, QHD 2K 2560 x 1440 Super AMOLED display and possibly 64-bit processor. Apple's iPhone 5s has a 64-bit so it is likely the pressure is on Samsung to come up with a phone with the same power.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 runs on a quadcore Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It also features a 1,080 x 1,920 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. One possible advantage that analysts see on Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. Galaxy Note 3 is the RAM. Samsung has announced recently that it plans to increase the internal memory of its devices to 4 GB RAM. This should satisfy many users as they can do more on their Samsung devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 offers 3 GB RAM already. A 4 GB RAM on the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not be farfetched. Samsung Galaxy S5 will include a 16 MP ISOCELL camera but without the OIS. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features a 13 MP camera.

As of the moment, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available in stores. People will have to wait for official announcement from Samsung to figure out whether the S5 is worth the wait compared to getting the phablet already.
