Samsung has apparently accepted record pre-orders for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. A top Samsung executive reportedly told The Korea Times that, the tech giant has received roughly 15 million Samsung Galaxy S6 pre-orders and 5 million Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge pre-orders across the globe. However, the top executive requested to remain unidentified for the sake of confidentiality.

It is worth noting that, Samsung has apparently started accepting pre-orders with Netherlands as the debut location. And speaking of the Galaxy S6 price, the 32 GB S6 model can reportedly be availed for 700 euro, whereas the Galaxy S6 Edge will set the buyers back by 850 euro, without a contract.

To further corroborate the record pre-orders, Samsung Mobile chief Shin Jong-kyun apparently told the Korean reporters that the interest created by the latest Galaxy S6 devices is incomparable to the previous flagships. The chief reportedly told, "To be honest, pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge." In hindsight, the damp squib response to 2014 flagship, the Galaxy S5, resulted in Samsung re-designing the Galaxy S line-up of devices, notes Phone Arena.

According to The Korea Times, with the disappointing market share loss in 2010, followed by a not-so-impressive 2014, the tech giant is gearing up to an aggressive marketing campaign for the Galaxy S6/Galaxy S6 Edge. To top it off, the company is apparently offering more incentives and benefits to mobile network carriers and customers, prior to the Apple iPhone 7/6S launch scheduled for 2015.

Meanwhile, Mark C. Newman from Bernstein Research in Hong Kong, has clearly pointed out why the new Samsung devices have received such a great response so far. Says Newman, "We think the components side of the S6 is more positive for Samsung's earnings direction, with the processor moving internally [guaranteeing a saving of roughly $28 per handset], significantly more memory [i.e DRAM and NAND capacity improvement] and the display showing off their technology lead in flexible OLED [pointing to the three-sided Galaxy S6 Edge innovation]."

Sharing the same sentiment, Lee Min-ah from Hi Investment in Korea apparently said, "It's no surprise to see that Samsung received historically high pre-orders of the recent phone.” However, he was reportedly quite cautious and added the following: “But the key point is how the firm set a competitive price for the entry-level model."

Meanwhile, here is a list of key Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 specifications. Both the smartphones feature the same 5.1-inch display with an impressive QHD/2K resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. This translates to a killer pixel density of 557 ppi, guaranteeing brilliant viewing experience. Adding a cherry on top, the smartphones are protected by Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 4. On the hardware end, the devices use Samsung’s Exynos 7420 processor and run on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Furthermore, the devices come equipped with 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of built-in storage with no microSD card support. And lastly, a solid 3 GB of RAM and a 16 MP primary camera unit complete the incredible S6 variants.
