Samsung Galaxy S6 "Project Zero" Reveals New Features and Concept
Samsung refuses to back down from intensifying competition from Apple and Xiaomi as details about the Galaxy S6 flagship surface. According to latest reports, Samsung may be gearing up for the release of the Galaxy S6 with Project Zero in tow featuring ultra thin 5.5 dual-edged display, new processor with 64-bit support. Can Samsung deliver a new killer to stay alive?
Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 received good reviews but the company continues to fight for its position with Apple's iPhone 6 dominating and Xiaomi catching up. As the year ends, something becomes more apparent, the time for Samsung to release another major flagship approaches. This time, eyes are starting to turn on the Galaxy S6. According to Android Origin, the Korean tech giant may be working on Project Zero revamping its mobile division to address the company's declining profits.
To support the release of the S6 next year, Korea Herald quoted Jerry Kang, a Senior Analyst of IHD Technology, saying: "The Galaxy S6 to be released next year will feature a 'dual-edged' screen which is curved on the right and left sides." The analyst also noted that Samsung had an idea of the potential curved display complaints on the Galaxy Note Edge. The company did not push through with the dual edge orientation the last minute but people may soon see it through the S6.
Analysts previously noted that the lack of innovation triggered Samsung's declining sales. If Samsung can get the right combination of specs in the Galaxy S6 then it may have a way to go back in the game strong. A number of concepts also started emerging including one from 91mobiles. The site predicts the Galaxy S6 to sport a 5.5-inch screen and 2560 x 1440 resolution. According to Gizbot, the device may sport an Exynos 5430 processor, 4GB RAM, 20MP camera with 5MP front shooter and 3,300mAh battery.
Samsung has not released any statements about the S6. If the company will follow its previous timelines then the announcement may be during the Mobile World Congress next year. Samsung product announcements during the event often have Q2 releases.
