Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Roundup: Radical Change, March 2015 Release and New Screen Technology
Samsung's Galaxy S6 has started to make headlines with Samsung hinting bendable phones during its Investor's Forum 2014. While the company said bendable technology may be released sometime by the end of 2015, expectations remain hopeful of a more revolutionary handset. Here is a rundown of what has been reported so far about the upcoming flagship.
As 2015 comes close, analysts expect Samsung to unveil its next major flagship during the CES 2015 or the MWC 2015 with actual release around March. According to Gizbot, the Samsung Galaxy S6 may come with in-device display. The screen may be similar to the Galaxy S5 with accompanying Super AMOLED screen. Additional talks say, however, that Samsung may opt for a higher resolution. It should be similar to the Note 4 instead around 2560 x 1440 pixels.
The Galaxy S5 came with 16MP shooter so people should expect a boost. According to reports, the 20MP shooter should be realized in the S6 finally. There are also big expectations for the S6 to address design concerns plaguing Samsung for years. For instance, it may finally incorporate an all-metal build. Consumers have expressed previously their preference over an all-metal handset.
Another report by Android Headlines sees the camera to feature ISOCELL technology ideal for low light shooting. Other expected features include a dual-tone LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and ability to shoot 1080p at 120fps (frames per second). It may also have 4K capabiltieis.
Samsung's Galaxy S6 has been related to the codename Project Zero with some analysts noting the project name can be Samsung's way of demonstrating that is up to bring some radical changes. Recently, the company's sales have been slumping with China's Xiaomi taking over its share. Samsung's third quarter earnings showed dismal figures. The poor performance was further reflected when reports about its mobile chief J.K. Shin receiving an hefty salary cut. Samsung has not provided official details about the Galaxy S6.
