Reports leaked from Samsung’s home market in South Korea say the Galaxy S7 will have a release date in February 2016 and both rumoured versions of the S7 will support LTE Cat 12 that make for faster downloads and uploads.

There were rumours the S7 will launch in January but now it’s been confirmed the release will occur at a still unspecified date in February, states Phonearena. It could be that rumours the smartphone will be unveiled in January were encouraged so customers can start placing orders to receive deliveries in February.

The Korean company used a similar strategy for launching Galaxy Note 5. The Note 5 was a grand success, beating its biggest rival Apple’s iPhone 6s to the second spot.

Another breakthrough is to make S7 more affordable than its predecessor by keeping its cost lower by 10%. In an effort to boost sales of its first lot, Samsung is expected to make the starting price of the S7 10 percent cheaper than the S6, reported BGR.

There are lots of rumours before a smartphone’s release and the S7 is no exception. The idea the S7 is likely to appear in two versions can’t be ruled out. Customers are likely to get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset for one version and Exynos 8890 (M1) SoC for another, both being manufactured by Samsung.

Both versions will be leveraged by LTE Cat. 12 speeds, while the Snapdragon 820 will integrate the LTE Cat. 12 modem. The Exynos 8890 will also have a similar integration, this time.

Theoretically, LTE Cat. 12 speeds imply 600 Mb/s for downloads and 100Mb/s for uploads. This suggests that your phone and carrier should be capable of handling such insane speeds.

Behold! There’s more offer on the radar since it’s predicted the smartphone will also support Samsung Pay and 3D touch gesture for its display.
