Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, leaks & update: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor reportedly confirmed; Bixby personal assistant teased
Qualcomm and Samsung announced their collaboration on the Snapdragon 835 chipset last week. Moreover, a recent leak showed the Galaxy S8 handset to be equipped with the latest chipset from Qualcomm. Samsung is in the habit of including the latest Qualcomm chips in its Galaxy S series flagship smartphones.
Now, details of the highly-efficient processor from Qualcomm have been revealed. Chinese tech blog Anzhuo leaked the Snapdragon 835 spec list and has also suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone will feature a mega 6GB RAM. In that case, it would be the first handset with global distribution to sport such a huge RAM capacity, reports iDigital Times.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset features 10nm FinFET technology and the processor could ship on devices in early 2017. It is highly possible that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is one such device. The processor will allow lower power consumption and greater performance. Tech enthusiasts believe that the Galaxy S8 will receive an MWC debut during Feb. 27 to March 2.
However, some believe that the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be announced between Feb. 24 and 26. There have been reports that the Galaxy S8 may also feature the personal assistant Bixby. It’s similar to Window’s Cortana and Apple’s Siri. Samsung is also planning to boost the smartphone’s design and camera. It could come with 4K resolution display.
As per Trusted Reviews, the Snapdragon 835 processor features a Kryo 200 CPU with eight cores and an Adreno 540 GPU together with Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon X16 modem. Even though there is no way to confirm the Samsung Galaxy S8 & Snapdragon 835 leaks, the Chinese microblogging site has been highly accurate in the past in certain cases.
Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could be one of the first phones of 2017 to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
