Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, leaks & update: Samsung bosses reportedly finalising specs, features & display
The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone is expected to feature some top-class specs and Android lovers will most-definitely look to upgrade their handsets to the Samsung flagship. It is expected that the handset will have a 256GB internal storage option and this has got fans excited apart from its mind-boggling specs. When compared to the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy S8 may have a steeper price. In fact, Goldman Sachs estimates that the price could be 20 percent higher.
According to Tech Times, a Korean report had earlier suggested that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will likely be released on April 21 and the South Korean tech giant will reportedly only make five million units available initially. The flagship may also have the personal assistant Bixby. The device may also come with S Pen support while the fingerprint scanner may be embedded in the display screen. Other specs include wireless in-ear headphones, Harman Stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.0 and Iris scanner.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 may not have a Home button. The handset is expected to have a dual-camera setup like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, one 16MP and the other 8MP. The selfie camera is also expected to be severely upgraded. Samsung may have roped in LG to manufacture the Galaxy S8 batteries after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. Battery capacity may exceed 3,000 mAh capacity. The US variant of the device may sport a Snapdragon 835 chipset while the international version could have an Exynos 8895 chip.
RAM capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S8 handset may be increased up to 8GB or 6GB from the current 4GB in Galaxy S7. A curved display is highly anticipated. A 5.5-inch 4K OLED Display may wow fans. Samsung may announce the device at MWC 2017, starting Feb. 27. However, fresh leaks spotted by Android Soul suggest 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch variants. The 3.5mm headphone jack may also be dropped. The units have reportedly been sent to the CEO and Vice Chairman for approval.
