If you frequently download and store media files, the Galaxy Tab 3's 32 GB space provision via microSD would be useful.

For only $189 in Kogan, the Slate (8GB, Wi-Fi) might be the device that matches your budget. It is heavier by over 60g compared to the Tab 3 and Nexus 7. But it also sports a 1024 x 600p screen display resolution, comes with dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Both the Tab 3 and the Slate sport a 3MP shooter, whereas the N7 features a 5MP camera.
