Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0 leaked images surface online
Images of Samsung's 7-inch Galaxy Tab E 7.0 have surfaced online, following weeks of rumours that the Korean tech giant was getting ready to refresh its mid-range Galaxy Tab E series of tablets. Alongside the Galaxy S7, Samsung may also release the revamped Galaxy Tab E series of tablets at the MWC 2016.
The leaked images, which seems to have first appeared on WinFuture, display the new device in Black and White colour variants.
The rumoured Samsung Galaxy Tab E 7.0 is said to arrive in two versions, with model numbers SM-T280 (Wi-Fi only) and SM-T285 (4G LTE) in the market. Users can see the rest of the leaked pictures on WinFuture.
The tablet is expected to emulate design elements from the current Samsung Galaxy A series of smartphones. The alleged 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab E or Galaxy Tab A, whose specs leaked online last month, has received an FCC certification, which indicates that the device is approaching its release date.
There are conflicting reports regarding the name of the tablet, which Samsung is yet to confirm.
The Galaxy Tab E will reportedly sport a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels. The 8.7mm thick tablet will be powered by a 1.3GHz processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage along with microSD card support.
Other Galaxy Tab E specs include a 5-megapixel rear facing camera unit, a 2-megapixel front camera and a huge 4,000 mAh battery. Weighing only 283 grams, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab E is supposed to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, as reported by GSM Arena.
The Tab E 7.0 is tipped to launch by the end of March or early April, according to unofficial reports, but its price is not yet confirmed. However, speculations suggest the 7-inch tablet may come with a price tag of €169 (AU$266) and €219 (AU$344) for the Wi-Fi and LTE supported versions respectively.
According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning to launch four new tablets from the Galaxy Tab E series in the United States later this year. The report claims that Samsung will release the Galaxy Tab E 7.0, Galaxy Tab E 8.0, Galaxy Tab E Lite and Galaxy Tab E Lite Kids in the US.
Furthermore, a recent GFXBench listing hints at the launch of the successor to Samsung’s highly popular Galaxy Tab S2, the Galaxy Tab S3.
