Tablets seem to be taking over books across the globe. After reports of iPad only schools, now Samsung has plans of coming out with a Kids version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Children in South Korea will soon be having an additional learning tool in the form of a tablet, something that was seen only in science -fiction movies and books just a few years ago.

A South Korean retail Web site, Move Player is touting pictures of Tab 3 devices in bright yellow, orange and red colours. The children's device seems to come with a 7 inch TFT -LCD screen and 1024 x 600 resolution. 1.2 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM. The device is run on Android Jelly Bean.

The plastic body that Samsung chooses for its devices comes with the benefit of customization. The colour of the children's device can be an attractive feature for parents to consider it over the Apple iPad. The other noticeable difference when it comes to the choice between iPad and the Tab 3 is the size. Apple enthusiasts may look to Apple to promote the upcoming iPad mini 2 as an educational device to compete against the Tab 3.

There are a number of educational apps and games for children available in the market and customers can expect to find the children's version of the Tab 3 to come preloaded with some of these apps and games.

One cause of concern for parents can be that the galaxy Tab3 is not just another electronic device and has Wi-Fi connectivity. It is still unclear whether the device comes with some kind of an Internet safety or filtering feature, making it safe for children.

There has still not been any official word from Samsung about the launch of the product. The product may be launched only in South Korea in the near future to test market reaction. Consumers in the U.S, Europe and Australian market will have to wait for the official announcements to be certain of its launch in their respective markets.
