After Google has disappointed consumers by not announcing the much awaited Nexus 10 2 at the Consumers Electronics Show, it is time to look for another option.

Many fans wait for the Google Nexus 10 2. But the company skipped another rumored release date that makes some tech junkies doubtful whether Google will ever release the second generation of its 10-inch tablet. Impatient buyers may start looking for a substitute.

Reports claimed Google will be working with Samsung to develop the Nexus 10 2 but that may not be true as the latter recently released a new line of tablets. Samsung showed off its own PRO tablets at CES consisting of four metal slabs with heavy specs. One of these was Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1.

Another candidate for Google Nexus 10 2 alternative is Apple's iPad Air released in October 2013, which received commendations for being the thinnest and lightest tablet in the market.

Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 has a 10.1 Super Clear LCD screen display with WQXGA resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 is powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset and 2 GB of RAM. iPad Air is packed with A7 chip with 64-bit architecture and M7 CPU chip which means faster processing.

Operating System

Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1 runs with the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. Meanwhile, iPad Air runs with the latest iOS 7.

Internal Storage

Buyers can choose between 32 GB and 64 GB models of the Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 10.1. The tablet is also equipped with microSD slot for external storage of up to 64 GB. iPad Air is available in 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage variants.

Camera

The 10-inch Samsung tablet can take photos with its 8 MP rear camera and 2 MP front-facing cam. iPad Air is equipped with 5 MP iSight camera at the back that can record Full HD videos and 1.2 MP Facetime camera.

Battery

Both devices pack an amazing 8,220 mAh battery but the Samsung's battery is removable.
