Samsung Gear S Will Be Available Through AT&T, Sprint And T-Mobile
It has been confirmed that the Samsung Gear S smartwatch will be made available through three leading US carriers. AT&T and Sprint will start selling the Gear S from Nov 7 whereas T-Mobile will do so from Nov 9.
T-Mobile was the first one to announce the arrival of the SIM card enabled Samsung Gear S smartwatch. According to T-Mobile, buyers in the US will be able to avail the smartwatch without any upfront and make monthly payments of $14.58 for 24 months. You can either purchase the smartwatch through T-Mobile online or through its retail stores.
The monthly plan for the two-year contract with T-Mobile costs only $5 per month. It comprises of unlimited calling, SMS and data (500 MB of max speed). It also brings also unlimited music streaming through certain supports apps like Milk Music.
AT&T and Sprint also announced their deals soon after T-Mobile. With AT&T too, users will have to sign up a two-year contract that comes at a price of $199 with a Mobile Share plan that costs $10 per month.
Sprint's deal is quite similar to what T-Mobile is offering. With Sprint, buyers can get the Gear S smartwatch with no upfront and make monthly payments of $16 for 24 months. Users can opt for the Family Share Plan that comes at $10 per month.
Both AT&T and Sprint will start selling the Gear S smartwatch from Nov 7. According to Samsung Mobile US Press, the Samsung Gear S smartwatch will be available in two colour options, white and black. It will also come to Verizon Wireless. Customers can also visit Samsung Experience Shops in Best Buy apart from other retailers.
Since the Gear S smartwatch comes with a nano-SIM slot, the wearable gadget can be used for making voice calls and accessing high speed internet. In other words, you can use it as a standalone device without pairing it up with your smartphone, tablet or other device, states GSMArena. However, it does allow you to pair seamlessly with multiple devices. The Samsung Gear S has not built to replace your smartphone but to come handy in those places and situations when you can't use your smartphone comfortably such as traveling or when you are partying.
