The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy Note 5 Edge might be coming, according to speculations, but there has still been no guarantee that the Korean tech company will actually release an Edge variant for the Note 5 series. Techno Buffalo has even pointed out that there might not be a Galaxy Note 5 Edge at all.

According to the rumor mill, instead of releasing an Edge version for the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung has plans to launch a new and entirely different device with curved edges. As reported by multiple online news sources, the device, as of the moment, has been given the internal codename of “Project Zen,” a unit that could sport a 5.5- or 5.4-inch screen, an S Pen, and a Snapdragon 808 processor.

It is highly likely that avid Samsung users will only get to know more details about the upcoming Galaxy Note 5, or whether or not it will actually have an Edge variant, when the Korean tech giant finally makes the official announcement during this year’s IFA event, which will be held in September – which, in, turn, is an observed tradition that Samsung makes with regards to the debut of their latest flagship gadgets.

While there has been no confirmation regarding the upcoming phablet, various concept designs have surfaced. Gdgt Compare lent his imagined look of the Galaxy Note 5 Edge and it looks a bit like the Galaxy S6 Edge, but with a clearly bigger screen, as pointed out by a separate Techno Buffalo article.

Plus, its curved edges seem to be a bit more angular, and some changes have apparently been applied to the device’s rear camera. Taking a closer look at the design that the Galaxy Note 5 could possibly have, it seems that it does not sport an S Pen – a feature that is pretty distinctive for the Galaxy Note series.
