Samsung Starts Seeding Android 4.4.2 Update for Exynos-Based Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900) Units
Samsung just released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running on Exynos. Previously, the company released the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Snapdragon-based Galaxy Note 3 (SM - N9005). There are several changes that Samsung Galaxy Note 3 users can expect from the update including the appearance of the UI. Is it worth the upgrade?
Android 4.4.2 changes the UI. The most noticeable is the white status bar icons compared to the multicolored. Samsung has been using multicolored icons for quite some time. It should provide Note 3 users a fresh look and feel on their device's interface.
The phone also promises performance boost following the update. According to several reports, benchmark scores improved following upgrade to Android 4.4.2. Samsung added a camera shortcut on the lock-screen. This makes it easier for people to access the feature. Music playback now allows users to view the album art in full screen.
The keyboard's layout also improved. People can use it better in landscape mode. This allows users to type faster and easier. Other core changes from the Android 4.4.2 update include: new emojis support, wireless printing, choice between Hangouts and stock messaging for SMS and MMS. People can also choose from a range of default launchers in settings.
Samsung has been rolling out the software update in stages. Some regions may not receive the update yet. It is best to wait for the roll out. Samsung promised it will complete rollout for the first quarter. Even if the execution falls in March, it still falls within the company's target. People will have to be patient. For people using a device with a branded carrier, it may take some time for the update to arrive. The update has to go through the carrier first before Samsung makes a move to release it for the specified device.
