Samsung seems to be joining Apple in planning to incorporate fingerprint scanning technology on their flagship devices. Some images have been found deep within the file system of the Galaxy SIII. The images contained fingerprint illustrations which can be treated as a sign that Samsung may incorporate fingerprint scanning in future devices.

According to a SamMobile source, the images were located in some older Galaxy SIII devices either by mistake or intentionally hidden deep in the file system. This indicates Samsung is testing the scanning technology and plans to push through with its release.

Today's mobile phones are quickly evolving in terms of processor speeds, screen size, display and RAM. Unfortunately, security is one feature that is slow to advance in smartphones. Although improvements have been made to increase phone security, most people continue to rely on PINs and password patterns. Some people don't activate any security feature at all. Fingerprint technology could be the security breakthrough that smartphone owners have been waiting for.

Analysts are hoping that Samsung might consider building a fingerprint reader and replace the home button. It would not only add to phone security but the fingerprint reader can be added to Samsung's arsenal of innovative features. Samsung smartphone owners will have more reason to brag about their phones.

Android Authority sources are keen on seeing the fingerprint scanning technology in the near future particularly the Galaxy Note 3. The Samsung Note series is a popular device among business users. It would only be sensible for the company to have this kind of technology in the Galaxy Note.

Previous speculations have already suggested that Apple was working on the same kind of technology for the upcoming iPhone 5S. Fingerprint technology has been around for quite some time now. It's only logical that the tech would find its way to mobile devices for the benefit of the average consumer.
