New specs for the upcoming Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 hit the blogosphere anew, setting off a likely June-July release date for the purported iPad killers from Samsung.

As the expected iPad Mini 2 nemesis, the Tab 3 8.0 packs a decent dual-core muscle of a CPU that is able to hammer away at top spin of 1.5GHz with a 2GB of RAM for a snappy overall performance.

The mini slab, according to SamMobile, struts with a 1280 x 800 resolution though the GPU driving its 8-inch display capabilities remains a mystery to date. The device is equipped with a host of radio connectivity - from Wi-Fi, 3G to LTE - ensuring that users stay connected at most times.

It has a camera mix of 3MP on rear and 1.3MP on front should give out a fair amount of operation time, thanks to the battery with a 4500mAh rating.

The dimensions for the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 are listed as the following: 112.1 × 209.6 × 6.95 mm. This JellyBean 4.1.2 slate weighs about 330 grams, SamMobile said, citing Greek blog site Techblog.gr as its source.

For the iPad 5, Samsung reportedly cooked up a Tab 3 10.1 that is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processing chip with 1GB of RAM and an unidentified display processing unit. It hits the scale at 533 grams with the following tape indications: 256.7 × 175.3 × 8.7 mm.

This iPad foe is LTE-capable and shares most of the hardwares that will be deployed with its more compact sibling though the battery rating is a high of 7000mAh.

However, the overall might that these two Samsung tablets would bring to the table seemed anaemic, especially for devices that were aimed to challenge Apple's top-performing iPad models.

Notably, the specs contradicted earlier hints that the third-gen Samsung tablets would sport top-of-the-line CPU and GPU specs, with experts expecting Exynos and AMOLED technologies as banner features.

Also, the June-July release date runs in counter with earlier reports that Samsung is unpacking its new bunch of tablets on September, in line for a Q4 2013 onslaught.
