Scarlett Johansson Believes Parenthood Is ‘So Personal,’ Says People Should Not Make ‘Grandiose Statements’ About It

While having revealed that she is loving her life being a new mom to Rose Dorothy, actress Scarlett Johansson also slammed other celebrity parents who made “grandiose” claims about raising a child. Johansson admits to being a “newbie” to parenthood, but believes it is a very personal endeavor.

In an interview with Australian Daily Telegraph, the 30-year-old star admitted that other stars making general statements about raising children that don’t even apply to every parent has always been a pet peeve of hers. “I always really hate it when actors or people in the spotlight make giant grandiose statements about parenthood because it's so, so personal," she said. She also disclaimed that she knew more about parenting that anybody else.

With Rose being her first child, “The Avengers” star confessed that she is still trying to figure out how to juggle her professional and personal life. "Before [Rose], I just made the choices that were affecting me but now I'm responsible for somebody else,” adding that she will eventually have to work less and that it will make her more “discerning.” Despite the change in her priorities that will greatly affect her A-list career, Johansson also considers the life-changing motherhood to be “very, very inspiring”; she even thinks that it could help her enrich her work and her self-understanding.

The blonde beauty also shared that her own mother was very encouraging of her and her twin brother’s separate interests, and that she made them feel that they should do whatever it is that they loved to do as long they really yearned for it, which was what inspired her to pursue her acting career. This sense of overwhelming support she felt from her mother was what she hopes to pass onto her baby daughter, she says.

Johansson secretly married second hubby Romain Dauriac, a French advertising executive, in Philipsburg, Montana in October last year, People reported. They welcomed their baby daughter Rose in September, and have been raising her between their homes in Paris and New York City.

Meanwhile, the sexy star appeared on “The Avengers: Age of Ultron” premiere in Los Angeles wearing a stunning black dress that flaunted her post-baby body, Mirror stated. The actress continues to promote the Marvel sequel to “Avengers,” in which she reprises her role as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. The film is set to be out in theatres on May 1.
